I had the pleasure of meeting Diane Jay, a lovely lady whose determination and patience was inspiring. I was able to be a part of her journey, not only through her home adaptations, but her journey in using a prosthetic limb.
There was no doubting that the works being carried out would help improve her quality of life. Diane was extremely thankful and was really looking forward to life being a little bit easier and safer for her and it is this feeling of gratefulness that commonly overrides the heightened emotions, stress and temporary disruptions she would go through having such improvements.
During my time with Diane, I reassured her that the feelings she was experiencing were ok and encouraged her to let them out, openly and honestly, putting the focus on her wellbeing.
"As I'm a wheelchair user, I was so miserable using my kitchen, until Brickwall Property came along. They got to work transforming my kitchen into a dream kitchen for my disability. More than that, it looked something like out of a glossy magazine. Vicki was amazing, every time I had a query she was right on it, she went beyond what was required of her."

"Our 2 daughters aged 13 years and 3 years old both have a genetic disorder called 'Ectodermal Dysplasia' which causes many health issues and symptoms.
The most challenging, being abnormal development of glands in their bodies - this affects any type of gland, including the digestive and respiratory systems, sweat glands and many more. Their internal body thermostats do not work correctly and with a lack of sweat glands they can overheat or become very hypothermic very quickly.
We were lucky enough to hear that we could apply for a Disability Grant through the local council to have air conditioning units installed in our home.
Since having them installed it has been life changing for us and our daughters. We have been able to use them for warmth and for the cooling aspect nearly everyday since having them. Both our girls bodies work differently so if one has overheated she uses the air conditioning to cool down which now happens within 30minutes rather than before, when it could take up to 4 hours and on occasions had meant a hospital trip as it would be severe enough to be heat stroke.
Whilst one can cool down, the other daughter can stay in another part of the house to ensure her body stays at the right temperature. These air conditioning installations are going to save so many hospital trips over the years and mean our daughters won't have to miss out enjoying their childhood."

"Vicki and Mick have been so helpful, kind and understanding and fully listened to our needs and what we would need to help our daughters. They discussed the work of all the units to be installed in the separate rooms at our home and we managed to arrange installation dates that worked around any illnesses and hospital appointments. The work schedule was also arranged in a way that I would still have access to the areas of the house to make sure my daughters needs were met and I could still provide their medical care so disruption was minimal."
